- Description
- Beginning in 2009, D. R. Young Associates (in association with T. J. Reagan, Inc.) directed the expansion of the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art - San Francisco's most well-known art museum. Prior to this project's inception, SFMOMA already had extensive collections in modern and contemporary art but with the acquisition of the world renown Doris and Donald Fisher Collection of Contemporary Art, SFMOMA was transformed into what it is today - the second largest modern and contemporary art museum in the world. Throughout this effort, D. R. Young Associates managed the development from architectural selection, through entitlement, design and construction. This project was completed in 2015 and opened to the public in 2016.
